Holistic Health Expert Shares Tips to Minimize Holiday Season Stressors

By Jennifer Marcenelle

According to recent statistics about holiday stress,an estimated 69% of people admit they are frazzled and exhausted when it comes to those familiar feelings of “lack of time” and a “lack of money” this time of year. And nearly 50% say they are also overly worried about the “pressure to give or get gifts.”

Another report, a Healthline survey (2015) about holiday stressors revealed that the majority of respondents said they were stressed during the month of December. So, what are these statistics trying to tell us?

Anxiety, stress and burnout around the holidays are the real deal.

The holiday season can be overwhelming and stressful for many different reasons and varies from person to person. For instance, for some people, Christmas, New Year’s or Chanukah might remind them of a loved one they lost, triggering a range of emotions and setting them down a path of grief, interlaced with a sad and lonely outlook.

Health experts say that extremely high expectations for all-things-sparkly and joyous during the holiday season can negatively affect both your physical and mental health–and much more than many people realize.

What Are the Signs of Burnout?

Common physical symptoms of burnout related to holiday stress can rear their ugly head in the form of exhaustion, digestive and respiratory issues, insomnia, running thoughts and much more. Stress and burnout can also lead to cardiovascular disease and heart attacks.

Other burnout symptoms, from low energy and fatigue to aches and pains and more, can surface in the form of irritability, meltdowns, depression, and in extreme cases, suicidal thoughts. As a result, those experiencing burnout often turn to drugs, alcohol, or sugar to numb feelings, isolating themselves and restricting activities.

How to Reduce Holiday-Related Burnout and Stress

For starters, the crucial thing to recognize is that to experience a stress-free holiday season, you must first establish and set boundaries with regard to your overall goals and expectations. Develop and stick to a plan with family and friends that allows you to fully enjoy the joy-filled and fun aspects of the holiday season without feeling unnecessarily overwhelmed or burned out. Managing expectations up front empowers each person to acknowledge and honor their own energy stores which does wonders for everyone involved.

Minimize Stress, Improve Positive Energy

If you are experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned above and think you may be  burned out, it’s important to find someone you can trust, whom you feel comfortable with and who knows how to facilitate you on a journey of healing. Learning to heal yourself is profoundly empowering. One way is with the help of a Certified Gemstone and Diamond Therapy Practitioner – he or she can show you how you can take your life back and free yourself. Gemstone and Diamond Therapies are complementary, natural healing methods that address the underlying energetic causes and contributing factors of burnout, illness and lack of wellness. Gemstones have been used for thousands of years to cure health issues and to enhance inner peace – making them an ideal fit for combating holiday burnout. The therapeutic benefits of gemstone energies are vast. Research suggests that various gemstones send out unique healing vibrations, which  resonate with the frequency of the healthy cells in a specific part of your body, and they may also help bring back unhealthy cells to vibrating at the same level as healthy cells.  Additionally, Gemstone Therapy can offer relief from various mental, emotional, physical and spiritual challenges. From helping with stress and depression to chronic and acute pain, the holistic practice energizes the body and mind, decreases blood pressure and inflammation, frees blocked emotions, reduces toxins, minimizes stress and improves positive energy.
